Waylon Thornton // “Chamomile & the Kingdom of Light”
Happy July 4th, everyone! When Waylon Thornton sent me this track last week he told me that it was the first song that he’s recorded for an upcoming solo album and that this particular album would be a psych/folk project. If you’re a fan of his then you’ll recognize that this is a noticeable shift in style. For starters I think that this is the poppiest that Waylon has ever sounded and second, his fascination with the darker things in life has been replaced by a tale of a heartsick lover. It’s an interesting (and welcome) turn from an artist that I’ve come to really think a lot of in the last few months. He’s still working on the as-of-yet untitled album so expect it out sometime later this year.
Also in other Waylon Thornton (and the Heavy Hands) news, they are still finishing up their new album Melted Rings. So that gives us two (count ‘em two!) upcoming WT projects to look forward to. Ciao.
